Principal Team's Message
Nurture. Innovate. Celebrate.
Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,
Maramba is Super Special
One of our Year 6 students, Aadya, has written a beautiful poem titled Maramba is Super Special, capturing what makes our school such a wonderful place to learn, grow and belong. We are incredibly proud of her work and the thoughtful way she has expressed her experiences at Maramba.
Reading the poem is both heartwarming and inspiring. It reminds us of the positive impact a school community can have on a child and highlights the strong sense of belonging, connection and opportunity that our students experience every day. We thank her for sharing her voice and for beautifully reflecting the spirit of Maramba Primary School.

Spotlight on Years 3 and 4
Students in 3/4T have been exploring fractions through hands-on learning experiences designed to build a deep understanding of how fractions represent parts of a whole.
Using concrete materials and bar models, students investigated unit fractions such as 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8, and developed their understanding of equivalent fractions by demonstrating relationships such as 1/2 = 2/4 = 4/8.
Students also represented fractions on number lines, working collaboratively to partition lines into equal parts and accurately label each interval. Through these activities, they explored the importance of equal parts and strengthened their understanding of fraction equivalence by matching fractions such as 1/4 and 2/8, and 1/2, 2/4, 3/6 and 4/8.
By moving from concrete materials to visual representations and finally to mathematical notation, students have developed a strong conceptual understanding of fractions and can confidently explain their thinking using mathematical language.

History Incursion for Years 1 and 2
Last week on Tuesday June 16th, our Year 1 and Year 2 students journeyed back in time for an immersive history experience. The day began with a visit from The History Box, where students explored artefacts and stories from the past. They then participated in a range of hands-on historical activities, including butter churning, writing with quills, and playing traditional games. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to experience what life was like in earlier times and bring their history learning to life.
