Dear Parents and Carers,
As we wrap up a full 11-week term, I want to extend a massive thank you to our incredible staff and wonderful parent volunteers. More and more, I am in awe of how the Mungindi community rallies together to ensure our young people get the absolute best experiences.
Our fantastic progress this term is a direct result of our targeted work on our Annual Improvement Plan, and I am thrilled to share how these goals are coming to life:
Attendance Success (Goal 1: Our People): We hit a 92% overall attendance rate, with 68% of our students maintaining an attendance level of 90% or higher! This shows that our commitment to ensuring conditions where everyone feels safe, valued, respected, and cared for in our authentic Catholic learning community is truly making an impact.
Academic Growth (Goal 2: Our Learning): Every single child in our school achieved growth in reading and PM benchmarks. By focusing on developing literate and numerate young people, we are working together to help our children realise a hope-filled future. This is a testament to our hardworking staff and the vital partnerships we share with you at home.
Whilst we celebrate the wonderful success of our school, we also farewell staff who have contributed to this work. We are sadly saying goodbye to Miss Beth Smith, who has been with us since 2024. As our K/1 teacher, her passion for student growth has left a lasting impact on our school. We will miss her dearly and wish her and her partner, Shaun, all the very best on their next adventure.
Congratulations to Georgie Greentree, who has represented St Joseph's Mungindi at the 2026 NSWCPS Cross Country. Georgie competed against a huge field from all across NSW Catholic Schools. We are incredibly proud of Georgie representing us in Sydney. What an achievement!
I wish you all a restful, happy holiday. If you are travelling, please stay safe on the roads. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for Term 3.
Have a wonderful week,
Ms Melita Roache
