What's On In 1/2

Literacy Safari
We are excited for our upcoming Literacy Safari, which will be held on Thursday 18 June from 2:45 pm to 3:30 pm.
Our students have been working hard on their narrative writing and are looking forward to sharing their published stories with families and visitors. Each student has transformed their narrative into a book, complete with a front cover and blurb, showcasing their creativity and growing writing skills.
To accompany their stories, students have also created a matching diorama that represents either the setting of their story or a significant scene from their narrative. These wonderful displays highlight the imagination, effort, and attention to detail that students have demonstrated throughout the writing process.
We look forward to welcoming families to celebrate our students' achievements and enjoy their creative storytelling journey.
Maths
This term, students have been developing their understanding of telling the time using an analogue clock. They have explored the important role of each hand on the clock and practised reading and identifying o’clock and half-past times.
As their confidence has grown, students have investigated the concepts of clockwise and anticlockwise movement and connected these ideas to quarter turns. They have learned how quarter turns relate to time, using language such as quarter past, quarter to, 15 minutes past, and 15 minutes to when reading and describing times on an analogue clock.
We have also introduced regular Maths Fluency sessions as part of our daily learning routine. During these focused 10-minute sessions, students practise simple addition and subtraction facts, working to improve both their speed and accuracy. These short, targeted activities help build number confidence and strengthen the foundational skills needed for future mathematical learning
