SSV Western Metro Region Cross Country

15th June

St Mary's sent 7 students to the Western Metro Region Cross Country Championships, and we are incredibly proud of each of them for competing across the whole race. 

We'd love to give a special shout out to Hudson Ciantar for placing 6th in the 11 year old boys race, and qualifying for the state finals in July. Good luck Hudson.

Grade 6 Winter Gala Days 

29th May & 12th June

St Mary's sent four teams across three sports, with each team experiencing significant succes across the tournament. 

Our mixed T-ball team went undefeated across the scheduled matches, but were unlucky to lose in their grand final. 

Our mixed netball team did not lose across the two days, qualifying for the next stage of competition on the 25th June. 

Our AFL 9s boys team went undefeated across the two days but were also unlucky to fall in the grand final against a well organised St Margaret's outfit, while our Girls AFL 9s also went undefeated during their scheduled matches and winning their grand final, also quialifying for the next stage of competition on the 18th June. 

We are all very proud of how the Grade 6s conducted themselves over the two days! 

Mixed Girls AFL 9s Division Final

18th June

Our mixed girls were drawn to compete against St John Bosco's of Niddrie in the Division Grand Final. Our girls competed valiantly against a strong side, only trailing by 6 points at three quarter time. Unfortunately St John Bosoco's overpowered the girls in the final quarter, despite our girls never giving in. 

A special shout out to Emilia Ambrosini who was best on ground for St Mary's. Her ability to always read the ball off a pack was crucial to keeping St Mary's in the contest. 

Well done to Emilia and St Mary's. 

Mixed Girls Netball Division Finals

The Year 6 Mixed Netball Team were also successful at the Division finals, defeating the other two teams who had progressed in the Moonee Ponds divsion, and progressing to the Western Metro Region Finals. We can't wait to see what they do next term. 

A special shout out to Willow Gray and Lily Bell, who were rocks in defence and Ava Berger, who never looked like missing a shot!

An extra special shout out to Nat Midiri, for coaching the team through the last two stages of SSV sport.
