Shine the Light

Foundation
The students have worked so hard this term, and we are incredibly proud of them. This week, we've taken some time to reflect on the wonderful characters we've met through Little Learners Love Literacy. Today was all about Daisy the Dog. They look amazing!
Year 1
This fortnight in Religion, Year 1 students explored images of God. Students designed an image of God and added a suitable caption to their art work. Students also explored how they can show they are made in God's image. They shared ways they could show they are made in God's image in their daily lives and acted this out in the classroom.
Year 2
Year 2 students have been going deeper into the features of 2D shapes. We have been learning about regular shapes, parallel lines and how to sort the shapes into different categories. To conclude our unit, students created cityscapes using 2D shapes. They are amazing!
Year 3
The Year 3 students have been learning about celebrations, commemorations, and festivals this term. To finish the unit, we held our own special celebration where everyone brought along some food to share. We enjoyed dancing, playing with balloons, and having lots of fun with musical chairs. Of course, we also ate sooo much delicious food!
The celebration was not only a wonderful way to end the term, but also an opportunity to farewell Harrison, who is heading to Switzerland with his family for a year. We wish him all the best on his exciting adventure and look forward to hearing about his experiences when he returns.
In 3 Blue, we have been learning about statistics. As part of our learning, we have been creating bar graphs and picture graphs. For this task, students chose a question they wanted to investigate and collected data from our class. They then organised their results in a frequency table before presenting the data in a bar graph.
Year 4
On Thursday June 25, Grade 4 participated in The Long Walk, completing five laps of the school block in commemoration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and in recognition of the ongoing journey towards reconciliation. It was wonderful to see students engage so thoughtfully in this meaningful experience, demonstrating respect, unity and a shared commitment to standing together in support of reconciliation.
Year 5
To finish the term in Mathematics and to consolodate out learning - we have been playing some fun addition and subtraction games including 99 or Bust, Shut the Box, Mastermind and Battleships. We really enjoyed these games because they were fun and interactive.
Year 6
Year 6 have had another busy couple of weeks. We recently went to the Queen Victoria Market to collect data for our Business Inquiry unit on the persuasive selling techniques and factors influencing consumer decision making. Students witnessed a wide variety of sounds, smells and sights as they navigated through the Market and identified a number of persuasive techniques used.
