Year 11 Formal

On Friday 13 October, our Year 11 students enjoyed a fabulous night at their Formal. We were very proud of the way our Year 11s presented themselves – not only were they dressed beautifully and appropriately for the event, but a number of our students also contributed in other ways such as ‘MC-ing’ the night (thanks Mia and Toby) and sharing a Biblical message (great job Owen!).  A highlight of the evening is always enjoying the dancing skills students have been working on throughout last term. Congratulations to all those involved in making this a lovely evening.

School Camps

Term 4 sees a flurry of camps as we head towards the end of the year. Our Middle Primary students head off next week to Lyrebird Park in Yellingbo, and our Junior Secondary students scatter in various directions during Week 7. The Year 9s to Canberra and the Year 7 & 8’s to Phillip Island and Wilson’s Prom. Our camps program is an integral part of the way we ‘do’ education here at MECS, but we could not do what we do without the amazing effort of our staff and parent helpers who are out there making it all happen!

Association EGM

What a fabulous EGM last week! With over 100 members in attendance, it was a special time of fellowship as the Association reflected on ten amazing years of our Kinder with fun activities and a ‘kid’s party’ supper. We also recognised the long and faithful service of our Assistant Principal Secondary, Karissa Esselbrugge, who has served this community for 20 years as well as farewelling Allan Long and Wendy Mason as they finish up in this community at the end of the year. (More about them in our next newsletter!). Being an Association member is your way of showing your commitment to authentic Christian education here at MECS and Ranges TEC, so please make enquiries through our office if you would like to find out more!

Working Bee

We are well and truly back into Working Bee season and so it was great to see so many of you here last Saturday! Only one more opportunity this year, Saturday 25 November, so don’t miss out on partnering with us in this way. We could not maintain our grounds and facilities without the support of our community, so once again, thanks for contributing your bit!
