Student Achievements

ASC Students Lara Bussell and Zipporah Fish Earn Prestigious ACC Letters

We are thrilled to announce that Lara Bussell (Year 10), and Zipporah Fish (Year 12) have achieved ACC Letters, the highest individual accolade awarded by the ACC, following their outstanding achievements in AFLW and Athletics.

To be eligible for ACC Letters, students must be selected for an ACC All-Star team in the same sport for specific durations:

Athletics, Cross Country, or Swimming: Four years minimum

Basketball, Cricket, Netball, AFLW, or AFL: Three years minimum

Being chosen for an All-Star team means a student has been selected to play for ACC representative sport (in Zippy's case, AFLW) or they are the best in the state at athletics, cross country or swimming (in Lara's case, athletics). This is an achievement in itself, but to do this for consecutive years is outstanding.

Receiving ACC Letters is not only an acknowledgment of these students' outstanding achievements but also grants them membership into the exclusive ACC Letters Club.

We are incredibly proud of Lara and Zipporah for this remarkable accomplishment and wish them the best in their future sporting endeavours.

Congratulations to Year 8 students Callum and Lucas Johnston, and Year 7 student Nate Pauline for their recent success at the WA Basketball Club Championships.

After narrowly missing out on competing for the Cup, the Lakeside Lightning team went on to win the Phil Smyth Shield. In this tournament, the top 12 teams out of a total of 24 vie for the Cup, while the remaining 12 teams compete for the Shield. Well done boys!

Zipporah Fish Shines at ACC All Stars Female Football Team

During Term 3, a Female All Stars Schools Football Carnival took place, featuring three teams: The Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC) All Stars Team, the Government Schools All Stars Team, and the Independent Girls’ Schools’ Sports Association (IGSSA) Team. The round-robin carnival showcased some of the best Year 10, 11 and 12 students in the State against each other.

Talented Year 12 student, Zipporah Fish, was selected in the ACC Team for the third consecutive year. The selection process involved a trial where over 80 girls battled for a spot on the final team. All Saints’ College staff member, Mr Oliver Beath, was selected as Head Coach for the ACC Team.

Prior to the commencement of the Carnival, Old Saint and current Fremantle Dockers AFLW star, Philipa Seth (Class of 2011), presented the jumpers to the team and gave the girls some fantastic advice about what is takes to play football at the highest level.

Zipporah primarily played as an inside midfielder in both her games, finding a lot of the football and showing tremendous leadership both on and off the field.

The ACC played in the first two games of the Carnival, defeating IGSSA by two points in an incredible game of football before backing up 20 minutes later to beat a fresh Government Schools Team by 40 points.

These outstanding results secured ACC the top spot for the second time in three years.

The standard of football on the day was exceptionally high and scouts from the WAFC and both AFLW clubs were out in force, watching the talent on display.

Zipporah’s performance of the day earned her the MVP of the whole Carnival. She was presented with her medallion by Lisa Webb, coach of the Fremantle Dockers AFLW team.
