Principal and Deputy Principal News
Dear Parents and Carers,
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your enthusiastic participation in the recent Color Explosion Run. The vibrant energy and community spirit truly made it a memorable event for our school. Regrettably, I tested positive for COVID-19 last week and was unable to attend on the day, but I was following and cheering from home. I’m looking forward to being slimed at School by Cami very soon!
I would like to thank our dedicated team at St James, led by co-deputies Emma Herbert and Georgia McNamara who ensured the smooth functioning of the school in my absence.
A big thank you to Kate K and Mrs Georgia McNamara and many volunteers who collaborated and planned behind the scenes to make this event a success. Thank you to all of you for supporting your child to fundraise so that we can give some of our devices a much needed upgraded so as to enable something new and exciting to happen at St James in 2024.
This week marks another significant occasion as our students in Year 6 receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Your support in fostering their faith journey is highly appreciated. The students will receive the Sacrament this Friday 17th November at St Joan of Arc Church.

Grandparents and Special Person Day - Friday 27th October, 2023
On the 27th October we welcomed our Grandparents and the Special people in our lives. Classrooms were open from 9.00am, followed by a morning tea in the school hall at 10.00am hosted by the Year 1 families.
The students appreciated seeing members of their extended family here at school and sharing their learning.
The morning tea was well catered and enjoyed by the entire school community! Once again a huge thank you to the entire community for catering for the event and the parents in Year 1 for transforming our hall and setting up a lovely morning tea for our visitors.
Project Space / Water damage update
I’m so happy to share that the works in our project space have now been completed.
The students in Year 4 cheered as the division was removed. They wasted no time whatsoever in moving into the project space to complete some science experiments!
School Production
A big thank you to Radha and Atticus’ grandad who surprised us the other day when he delivered to school just some of the props he has been working on. We are so lucky to have so many talented and skilled members in our School community!
Clash of the Courts
A reminder that this Sunday 19th November a group of our mums and Mrs Herbert will be participating in an inter-school netball CLASH OF THE COURTS tournament!
There will be food and drink for sale, a raffle, and family-friendly entertainment…..all with the goal of raising funds for Team Sports 4 All.
We hope to see you there!

Hello Everyone,
Wow what a fantastic day we had last Friday for the Colour Run! A huge thank you to all of our students for making it such a fun day. Thank you to our fabulous Year 3 parents who volunteered to squirt and spray all of the participants including the staff. Most of all a huge thank you to Kate K who did an amazing job with all the preparations for the day. The colour run is a fantastic fundraiser for our school, we look forward to announcing our class winners of the fish and chip lunch and sliming our Principal soon!
School Closure Day - Just a reminder that Friday 24th November is a school closure day for 2024 planning.
Uniform- with the volatile weather in Melbourne some days we need our jumpers others we don’t! Just a reminder that the sport jacket is NOT to be worn in replace of the jumper. The sport jacket is to be worn with the sport uniform and if it is exceptionally cold it can be worn over the school jumper. Please do not wear the school jumper over your summer uniform be it the dress or the shirt and shorts.
Our lost property is currently overflowing with unnamed clothing items. If you have lost an item of clothing please check out the lost property. If lost property is not claimed by the end of term it will be going in the second hand uniform shop.
