This week in Reading we are learning about the structure and features of a narrative text.


VOCABULARY

Structure: What a Narrative text looks like. 

 

Setting: The place something happens.

 

Problem: The challenge the main characters need to solve to achieve their goals.

 

Solution: How the problem is solved.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Read a book with your child and ask them to identify the setting, problem and solution.

 

Examples of books you may choose to read include:

  • Little Red Riding Hood
  • Three Little Pis
  • The Gingerbread Man
