Usually, this event is only open to University students, however, as a thank you for your continuous support, Curtin University and GSUC have opened it up to Year Eleven and Twelve students and any teaching staff who may be interested.

Gap Year Student Opportunities - Department of Communities

A position is available within the Department of Communities - Housing for a school leaver to be based in Albany, work business hours and earn a great wage! 

 

The role is as a Customer Service Officer, Level 2, with a starting wage of $70, 432 per annum and includes four weeks of annual leave, five additional leave days and 15 days of personal leave, plus a range of other great benefits. 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to be trained on the job, build your skills, and be part of something bigger.

 

You don’t need to be pursuing a future career in the housing industry to be suitable for this role. 

 

We have had school leavers complete a gap year of work, then progress to further university or other study, with the option to transfer to an office in the same Department in a different region. We have flexible work options in multiple locations and the opportunity to try different roles.

2024 'Gap Year' position at Lincolns

The ‘Gap Year Student’ position at Lincolns is a fantastic opportunity for a student who would like to work for a year after completing Year Twelve and before commencing studies at University or TAFE.

 

You don’t need to be pursuing a future career in accounting to be suitable for this role. We’ve had gap year students go on to study medicine, teaching, vet science, marketing and a whole range of other career paths.

 

This role can be in the form of a traineeship where you would complete a Certificate III in Business. This traineeship is undertaken during working hours.

 

You will need a current WA driving licence and a car for this position.
