Term 4, Week 6
Be Awesome Day: Last Friday everyone had an AWESOME day! We were very proud of our students and the school community for participating in the day with such positivity, fun and respect. It was lots of fun to visit all the the stalls around the school before seeing Mr Trezise, Mr G and Mr Lidgett get dunked. We then all headed to the oval to participate in the colour run. There were lots of smiles and fun to be had throughout the day and we thank our school community very much for their generosity of donations and time!
Grandparents Day: Once again this day was another wonderful community event. It was lovely to see students and their grandparents/special friends interacting in our classrooms, students proudly sharing their learning space and then enjoying afternoon tea together. We thank the many grandparents and special friends who were able to join us on the day!
GuGu Awards: As we have reached the middle of term 4 already, we have had lots of students excited to be spending their GuGu stickers! Popular choices have included lunch with Mr Trezise or Mr Parkes, free time and choosing songs to play in class. Congratulations to all of our students who work hard to display our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience!
Mathematics: In Mathematics we will be focusing on area and fractions. Students will informally explore the idea of area, looking at it terms on physical space and using counters to recognise the area of an item. We will revise the concept of fractions exploring the idea of halves and quarters, this will include identify half or quarter of an item and also of a collection of objects.
English: During reading session we will read the focus text 'The Imagineer', students will use the strategies predicting, tuning into interesting words and comparing and contrasting whilst reading this book.
Our Sound Waves sessions will involve revising the 'or' sound and we will continue looking at the homophones hear/here and your/you're.
Writing: persuasive writing/forming an opinion and supporting with evidence.
