Term 4, Week 6
Thank you to everyone who donated jelly beans and their time to make Be Awesome Day a success. We appreciate that you were able to volunteer your time to help us and it definitely made the day run very smoothly.
Grandparents Day
Thank you to all our special visitors on Grandparents Day! We had so much fun having you in our classrooms.
Fire Safety Visit Two
Last week, we had our second Fire Safety Visit. We had a chat about what we learnt last week and then learnt about 'Stop Drop Cover Roll' (what to do if your clothes catch fire). The highlight of the session was a visit to the fire truck, where we got to turn on the hose!
Be Awesome Day
What a fun day we had on Friday! The Be Awesome Day Show was exciting enough, and then we got to top it off with a Colour Run!
Maths
This week we have started to learn about money by using coins to pay for things in our 'shops'.
Getting reading for Grade 1
We are quickly approaching the end of the year and the end of our Preps first year of school. At this point in the year, we begin to prepare the Preps for Grade 1. Students should be lining up outside before the bell each morning and coming into the classroom independently. They should be able to unpack their bag independently each morning and remember their satchel from home. They should also be able to pack their bag at the end of each day independently, remembering their satchel, fruit snack container, jumper and drink bottle.
These are skills that we will be continuing to work on for the rest of the year and would love your support with encouraging your child to do these.
