Learning and Teaching
Congratulations to our Courage Award Winners!
Year 1
Our Year One learners are looking at 3D objects in numeracy. We have been learning about the corners, edges and faces each object has.
We have been getting creative constructing a 3D object using a net.
The students have been exploring and understanding how 3D objects can be found in the real world, like a dice is a cube.
Year 5
During the 16th to the 18th of October, the Year 5s and all the staff and volunteers travelled to Campaspe Downs, Kyneton for Year 5 Camp. The leadership opportunities and entertaining outdoor activities were an experience we will never forget. The camp was amazing!
After long goodbyes everybody was prepared to leave Echuca for 3 days. Our energy was high but soon died down when we heard that we would be on the bus for 1 and a half hours until we got to Lake Weeroona. Soon after arriving, we had our snacks and got our energy out by getting on the playground and going wild! After we left Bendigo we were on the bus for another 1 and a half hours until we were finally at Kyneton.
The cabins at camp were one of the greatest things we had ever seen. We were so thrilled that we got to be with our friends for two nights. After a half day of activities, we were starving. Luckily the food at Campaspe Downs was terrific!
One of our favourite camp activities was Rock Climbing because it was both fun and challenging. Another highlight was when we were racing to the top because it was exciting and we could bring out our climbing skills. The rock climbing wall was located on a tall wooden tower. Initiatives was another favourite activity because we had to use our brains, teamwork and problem solving skills to work through all the obstacles thrown at us.
Overall, camp was an exciting experience. We are already looking forward to our Year 6 camp! Thank you to our Year 5 Teachers for organising our camp and to all our volunteers who made it possible.
