Bachelor of Learning Design and Technology
This exciting course was launched at the end of 2024 for 2025 entry. Importantly, this is not a teaching degree but, rather, a course where students design and create educational products used by in schools, educational institutions, and also online learning. This course is for students who wish to combine their love of creativity, technology or psychology to explore how we best navigate new challenges and technologies, from artificial intelligence and simulations to corporate training and career development. The skills students gain in this course will open up multiple career paths. Apart from learning design, graduates could pursue roles in marketing, human resource development, instructional media and game development, training and project management.
Students will participate in off-campus Work Integrated Learning (WIL) from Year 1 of the course, undertaking up to 80 hours of placements over the duration of the course. Students can also opt to participate in the Monash Innovation Guarantee (MIG) program as an elective, working with other students to deliver solutions for an industry partner.

Monash students have the opportunity to enrol in the Monash Innovation Guarantee (MIG). This is a guaranteed industry collaboration with one of 50 leading partners, with no application or interviews required. MIG elevates participant’s employability, helps them form important industry connections and ensures their voice is heard. No matter what career students are considering, MIG gives them the innovation and leadership they need to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world. MIG is an opportunity to make connections and develop real industry experience before they graduate.
MIG usually takes place over 3-weeks as an intensive, in-person summer unit held in January. Students work in a small team to deliver a purpose-driven solution to a real-world challenge set by an industry partner organisation, ranging from commercial or social enterprises, a government or UN agency, or even a start-up company.
