TAFE YES Metals Program:
Our TAFE YES Metals program finished last week with an amazing opportunity for our students to connect with two local employers; Hutchins Bros Engineering and Manildra Group. Last Friday, students attended an information session at the TAFE campus with Heidi Hutchins and Rebekah Beer of Hutchins Bros Engineering and then attended a tour of their workplace to see first hand the amazing facilities, see large scale projects and technology in use and discuss the many career opportunities available locally. Then in the afternoon students were able to tour and speak with staff of the Manildra Group’s Mill and see the facilities here in Narrandera. This provided students with a better understanding of the amazing opportunities with Manildra Group and extend their newly acquired skills and knowledge in metal fabrication and how these are applied in various organisations and in real-world settings. We wish to take this opportunity to thank all parties for coming together to provide such a rich learning experience for our students. Thank you to Fee Smith of Narrandera TAFE, Narrandera Shire Council, Craig Curry our TAFE Teacher, Hutchins Bros Engineering, Manildra Group and our Narrandera High School staff Brett Ireland and Grant Napier for all your support of this fantastic program.
