On 12 September, Oakleigh Grammar proudly hosted the Community Project Exhibition, a major milestone for our Year 9 students. As part of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), these students have been working on community projects that address local and global needs with the aim of making a positive impact.

The projects not only reflect our school's values of humility, aspiration, respect, and kindness, but also embody the key goals of the MYP by encouraging students to:

  1. Participate in a sustained, self-directed inquiry within a global context.
  2. Generate creative insights and develop deeper understandings through in-depth investigation.
  3. Demonstrate the skills, attitudes, and knowledge required to complete a project over an extended period of time.
  4. Communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  5. Demonstrate responsible action through, or as a result of, learning.
  6. Appreciate the process of learning and take pride in their accomplishments.

The exhibition provided a platform for our students to share their commitment to service and social responsibility. The community came together to celebrate the hard work and creativity of these young leaders, who have risen to the challenge of addressing important global issues.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this inspiring event! We are immensely proud of our Year 9 students for their dedication to making a meaningful difference in the world.
