Hello everyone, my name is Ash and I’m an educator at LNPS OSHC. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with the students at LNPS for four years now. I began my final university placement in 2020 in the Mellor building, and I was thrilled to secure a teaching position here for three consecutive years. Last year, I said farewell to my Torrens students and the LNPS community to return to university and pursue a career in Speech Pathology. Fortunately, the wonderful staff at LNPS OSHC have welcomed me back this year to work with our amazing students and the wider school community!
Throughout my time here, I have built many positive professional relationships with the students, which I truly value. Working with them at OSHC allows me to support their growth and development in a professional yet friendly manner. I take great pride in being a trusted figure for the children, helping them navigate their experiences and encouraging them to express themselves confidently.
I’d also like to highlight our commitment to the My Time, Our Place framework, which guides our program at OSHC. This curriculum focuses on promoting children’s learning through play, providing them with opportunities to develop their social skills, creativity, and critical thinking. We aim to create a nurturing environment where children feel empowered to explore their interests and express themselves. Through a mix of structured activities and free play, we encourage the children to take the lead in their learning while fostering a sense of belonging within our community.
Creating a fun and inclusive environment at OSHC is very important to us as educators, and ensuring that the children feel safe and happy is our top priority. I’m excited for the coming weeks and can’t wait for the fun of the vacation care program!
See you all very soon!
