Stage 1 Focuses on Road Safety
This term Stage One has been learning about the importance of road safety.
Students have participated in interactive lessons that covered essential topics, such as pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, and the importance of passenger safety. These lessons have helped Stage One students to make safe choices on and around the roads.
Safety rules we are covering this term are:
- Hold a grownup's hand when you cross the road.
- Hold a grownup's hand when you're on the footpath.
- Hold a grownup's hand when you're in a car park.
- Always wear a helmet when you ride or skate.
- Ride your bike away from the road.
- Always buckle up safely.
- Get in and out of the car on the footpath side.
- Wait till the bus is gone and then use a safe place to cross.
This week we have been using the safety phrase STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, THINK to help keep us safe when we’re a pedestrian. We have been busy creating our own posters to help teach this phrase to the whole school.
Here are some of our designs.
