From the Principal

Rudy Vail

Dear Parents & Carers,

Welcome Back to All Families!

We hope everyone had a restful break and a chance to recharge before the exciting final term of the school year. This term promises to be a busy and fulfilling one, with many activities and opportunities for our students to grow.

Berry Street Professional Learning

On Monday, during the school closure day, our dedicated teaching staff participated in a full day of professional learning focused on Domain 2 of the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM). This domain centres around the importance of relationships - an essential foundation for effective teaching and learning. Strong, positive relationships are at the heart of building a safe and supportive school environment, which fosters the wellbeing and engagement of all students.

The Berry Street model equips our teachers with practical strategies to strengthen relationships with students, focusing on how we can better understand individual needs, respond to challenging behaviour, and create a classroom culture where every child feels valued and connected. By deepening these relationships, we aim to continue fostering a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment at Our Lady Help of Christians.

Website Enhancement and Social Media Success

On Wednesday, School Presence visited our school to capture new images for our website. We are working towards a comprehensive enhancement of our website, which we hope to complete before the end of Term 4. This update is part of our ongoing efforts to improve our online presence, and we are thrilled with the progress we have made so far. We have also been working diligently on indexing our website for Google, and the results have been very positive. Many of you have shared lovely compliments about what we have posted on social media, and we appreciate your continued support and feedback.

Welcome Ms Laura Condon

Finally, we are pleased to announce that Ms Laura Condon has joined our teaching staff for Term 4, taking over from Mrs Sherlock in 4/5S. We are excited to have Laura on board and know she will bring great energy and expertise to the class. Please join us in welcoming her to our school community!

Warm regards,
