New Victorian Curriculum 2.0

Hello families,

As we near the end of Term 3, students are working hard to complete units of work and performance pieces before we break for the holidays. Teachers too are continuing to plan for and assess students, as well as becoming ‘familiar’ with the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0. The new curriculum aims to provide students the best opportunity to thrive in a world of increasing change and rapid technological advancement. The new curriculum aims to benefit both students and teachers.

Since Term 4 2023, teachers have been planning for Mathematics using the new curriculum, getting to know and understand the changes and how to accommodate these in our classroom and assessment practices. We will be assessing against the new Mathematics Curriculum 2.0 for Semester 2 reporting.

We are an ambitious bunch here at TPS and although the new English Curriculum is not required to be fully implemented until next year, we have been chipping away at deconstructing, revising and reviewing Achievement Standards, so that we can assess against the new English Curriculum 2.0 by this years end, along with Mathematics 2.0.

Watch this space as we move into our final term, so that our transition to the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0 is clear for all our stakeholders.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe break.

Happy learning!

Catherine

Book Club

Scholastic Book Club is a service offered to students, parents and teachers. Brochures advertising a variety of books and computer software are sent home with each student, approximately twice a term.

Purchase of the books is not compulsory and there is no obligation. If you do wish to purchase any goods simply log into the Book Club site www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP and follow the prompts. All Book Club orders must be ordered and paid for via LOOP. Do not send order forms and cash to school. When the order arrives at school, books are sent home with students.

The School earns “Bonus Points” for each order which can be used to purchase new resources for the Library.

Issue 2 orders should be in by the end of next week and Issue 3 will be out early in term 2.
