Co-curricular
Year 12 – Thank You
It's that time of year again when we bid farewell to our Year 12 cohort. As we do, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for their contributions to the Co-curricular Program over the past eight years. I hope these young men leave with many cherished memories, and I encourage them to return in the future to coach and support our younger students in the various activities we offer.
Special recognition goes to:
- Christian Coorey and Elijah Tan who have served the College well in their respective Prefect roles (Sport and Cultural).
- Our Captains of various activities – Jack Roberts (Cricket), Matthew Boys (Basketball, Samuel Avvenevole (Baseball), Jaiken Poon (Swimming), Alex Conti (Rugby), Matteo Vaccaro (Football), Kieran Low (Tennis), Nathan Campbell (Athletics and Cross-Country), Luke Bromfield (Debating and Public Speaking) and Henry O'Reilly (Performing Arts). You are to be applauded with the way you led your activity and the boys involved.
- Thomas Coorey and Daniel De Pasquale have shown remarkable commitment, participating in over 30 Co-curricular activities over the past six years. In Year 12, Thomas engaged in six activities, while Daniel took part in five. Both also served as Prefects in their final year at the College, setting an excellent example for the younger students to emulate.
Senior Athletics/Cross-Country Presentation Evening
I wish to notify all parents, carers and boys that the Athletics and Cross-Country Presentation Evening will be held on Wednesday 16 October in the Robson Auditorium. Students should arrive by 7:00 PM for a prompt 7:15 PM start.
There is a clear expectation that all students involved in these activities will be in attendance and dressed in their full College Winter uniform (blazers included).
The College requests that no cars park in Hydebrae Street (which runs at ninety degrees from Francis Street and the Senior Library) at any time. Its narrowness makes resident parking difficult and non-resident parking can present a safety risk by preventing the access of emergency vehicles.
The event is scheduled to conclude by 8:15 PM, so please arrange transportation accordingly, especially for picking up your son(s) afterwards.
Homework Club
Parents/carers and boys are advised that Homework Club has concluded for this term and will re-open on Tuesday 15 October. It is my hope that students are making good use of this service and I encourage more boys to consider this option.
Congratulations
We are thrilled to announce that Massimo Costa-Puntillo (Year10) has secured a Gold medal in the team Kumite (karate) event at the World Cup in London, England! Competing at an exceptional level, he faced tough opponents from England and Lebanon, with scores tied going into each round. Demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, Massimo won both of his final bouts, securing the Gold for Australia and earning the title as World Champion.
