Year 1 Highlight
In Year One, we have been learning about God’s Creation and Common Good. We have explored ways our thoughts and actions can contribute to the Common Good and ways we can care for Creation. As a part of our action in our Religion Unit this term, the Year One’s went for a walk around the outside of the school grounds. We worked in groups and used buckets and tongs to pick up the rubbish we found on the inside and outside of the school. The Year One’s found it interesting the amount of rubbish that we found amongst bushes and on the ground and enjoyed picking these up and putting it back into the correct bin once we returned to school. The Year One’s had rich conversations when we returned and completed a “see, think and wonder” activity, with many students wondering “what would God think about the rubbish we found?” and “I wonder what would happen to the rubbish if we didn't pick it up?”. We had a great day enacting our knowledge about Creation and the Common Good and enjoyed playing our part to look after our community and environment.
