Wellbeing

At Truganina College, we are privileged to have nine members in the Wellbeing Team to support your children. We are a group of Counsellors, Social Workers, Education Support and a Psychologist. Each newsletter, we will introduce a new member to you!

The aim for the Wellbeing Team is to facilitate group and individual sessions, as well as whole year level workshops that target the students’ needs. We also endeavour to promote mental health awareness and inclusivity throughout the year by celebrating various events, such as our recent R U OK? Day. The Wellbeing Team are lucky enough to work with a leadership team who supports their vision and encourages wellbeing conversations within the school.

The team is led by Jordan O'Connor, who is the Psychologist and Wellbeing Team Lead. Jordan has worked at Truganina College for the last 2 years, where she works one-on-one with students to help develop strategies to help cope with their experiences.

Jordan and her team have worked to create a space the students see as valuable and safe. This increases their willingness to engage and improves the relationships. The Wellbeing Hub has gone from a space that students were hesitant to enter, to constantly having students of all year levels to come say 'Hi' during break times.

Jordan is very grateful to be working alongside this community, and is excited for what else Wellbeing can do to support the students.

If you need some additional supports outside of school, please see the below list.
