The Glass Girl
By: Kathleen Glasgow
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Girl in Pieces comes a raw, heart-wrenching novel about a teenager facing down her struggles with alcohol -- and the journey she must take to heal.
Everyone in Bella's life needs something from her. Her mom needs her to help around the house, her dad needs her to not make waves, and her ex needs her to ... The only person who never needed anything from her was her grandmother -- she just needed her to be Bella. Now her grandmother is dead.
There's one thing that eases the pressure, though. Alcohol makes it all so much easier.
But one-night changes everything. A Thanksgiving party and too many drinks land her, unconscious, at her front door, where her mother finds her in the early hours of the morning. When she wakes up in the hospital with a fractured cheekbone and no memory of the night before, it's clear that it's time to deal with reality. For Bella, reality means going to rehab.
A compelling teen read that delves deeply into the causes and effects of addiction.
When we flew away
By Alice Hoffman
There is a day you never forget, the day the whole world changes. When you close your eyes, light becomes dark, night never ends, beasts walk freely down the street, and stars fall from the sky. Anne always saw that there was hope in the world, but with the occupation and brutality of the Nazis in her adopted homeland, even she starts to see the evil in the world. She wanted so much that her heart broke in half, but half a heart is better than none.
Anne’s love of books and her inquisitive mind is evident throughout, and the journey of how the world was at this time reminds us of the harsh futility of war.

My Family and Other Suspects
By Kate Emery
Holly Jackson meets Agatha Christie in this modern-day YA murder mystery where your closest family are your prime suspects.
Ruth is not thrilled to be spending the weekend at the family farm visiting her distant step-grandmother. With no internet or phone coverage, Ruth occupies herself by re-reading old Agatha Christie novels, eavesdropping on the adults, and definitely not daydreaming about her sort-of-cousin Dylan.
But when distant step grandmother dies under suspicious circumstances, Ruth's dull weekend turns into an enforced-family-holiday-slash-possible-murder-investigation. She's not about to let the police get in the way of her chance to solve a real-life murder mystery. With Dylan as the Watson to her Holmes, Ruth soon discovers that plenty of people had reasons to be rid of step grandmother, and her list of suspects grows to include everyone in the house. In the interests of fairness, she must include herself.
