From the Board

Hi everyone my name is Caroline Tuthill, I was elected to chair the PVS Board at this year’s school Annual General Meeting. I have been on the school Board since 2020 when our son Finn commenced at PVS. Finn is now in year three and his younger sibling Jos, in pre primary.
As the new chair I would first like to acknowledge Sharon Arena and Marrie Woodward for their strategic and governance oversight of the Board and support for the school community over the last four years as chair and vice chair/secretary respectively. Sharon and Marrie have been instrumental in ensuring school and board policies and procedures contribute to the effective governance and financial management of our school.
We warmly welcome new Board members elected at this year’s AGM- Rebecca Scott, Sharanpal Singh, Mo’ath Aleassa, and Simone Rist (vice chair), who join existing Board members Charmain Holyoak-Roberts, Valentina Giuliattini, Marrie Woodward and Sharon Arena. We are fortunate to have a Board comprising parents reflecting most of the school years making it easy to have a chat or get in contact with us.
I would like to acknowledge the significance of PVS Reconciliation Action Plan for opening our hearts and minds to First Nations culture, knowledge, and history. Hearing from Whadjuk Ballardong Elder Brett Collard’s Welcome to Country and renaming the schoolhouses at the school carnival was a great way to mark our reconciliation journey.
Lastly, early next term the Board will release the PVS Strategic Plan 2025-2028. School community input informed the headline statements which we have captured to reflect strategies that are both aspirational and practical. The Board and the school will work towards these goals over the next four years to give our kids the best learning and experiential opportunities at PVS.
