Student Wellbeing

Initiatives and Learning to Support Students

What a wonderful year we have had!

This year we have continued to improve the programs and practices for students. As we reflect and plan for 2024 it is important to take the time to celebrate all the learning and improvements we have put in place to ensure success for students.

Below are the key new initiatives, programs, and learning we have embarked upon in 2023.

  • Extension of school counselor hours and support
  • Introduction of Peaceful Kids Program
  • Introduction of the MAT program in Year 5
  • Develop staff capacity through Professional Learning in the areas:-
    • Neurodiverse Learners
    • Trauma
    • Flourishing classrooms environments
    • Inclusive classrooms
    • Anxiety and worry
  • Autism
  • Sensory needs
  • Lunchtime clubs
  • Social stories

Staff regularly engage in professional learning sessions to broaden their knowledge and build on their skills. This benefits all students and those who may need extra adjustments. Next year will see a continuation of building our skills, and strengthening students' skills in using friendology language and other social skills clubs/groups.

Student Reports

Student reports will be available on Compass on Monday 18th December. To access the report for your child please log on to their profile and go to View Academic Reports and open the report. If your child(ren) is leaving Lysterfield, you must download the reports as you will lose access. Please spend the time reading the report with your child and celebrate their achievements.
