Religious Dimension

Welcome back everyone!

It has been a lovely start to 2024 with our Opening School Mass which was well attended last Friday.  It was a delight to see our Prep students participate with Mrs. Woolley and Melissa's guidance and encouragement along the way.  Father Dispin was delighted to see the Preps doing their best to be present and he introduced them to our community as well as our staff members.

This Year our overarching concept is 'Courage' and many posters which depict quotations from the bible were part of the opening procession at our whole school mass last Friday.  I will share one of these with you today. These posters will be displayed across our school and in classrooms so that they can be unpacked by our staff with our students to deepen, support and encourage students to know God's and Jesus' biblical teachings about courage.

I hope that you find comfort in this one to begin with.

This scripture can be a challenge for all of us when we go through times of uncertainty.  Sometimes our courage is tested, but Jesus reminds us that we are all to trust and have faith so that fear and worry do not take over.  Rest in God who knows what plans he has for us. A plan to help us prosper. As believers of Christ it can be comforting to know that during good and hard times we have our saviour overseeing our steps.

Last Sunday's Gospel, Mark 1: 29-39 when Jesus heals Peter's mother in law we are reminded of Jesus' miracles, faith and courage to believe when all seems lost.  As brothers and sisters of faith we can always lend a hand and help others during tricky times by using our hands and hearts.
