Catholic Identity

Creator God, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we walk together on your path of love, hope and faith.

Thank you for the gifts of our school,

our environment, our families and friends.

May our school be a place of learning, care, welcome and celebration.

Mary our Mother, pray for us.

St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.

Amen

In Mark 1:40-45, we encounter the story of a man afflicted with leprosy who approaches Jesus, pleading to be healed. Moved by compassion, Jesus reaches out and heals him, demonstrating the power of love and mercy. This narrative resonates deeply with the ethos of Project Compassion, a charitable initiative rooted in compassion and empathy towards those in need.

As we enter the season of Lent, marked by prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, we are called to reflect on the significance of Jesus' actions and imitate his compassion in our own lives.

Just as Jesus healed the man with leprosy, we are encouraged to reach out to the marginalised and offer our support through acts of kindness, generosity, and service, embodying the spirit of compassion that defines both Project Compassion and the Lenten season.

Let us Pray…

God of love,

You care for us and all in our global family.

You want for us all life in its fullness.

Help us see the challenges faced by so many.

Help us look for justice.

Fill our hearts with love.

Turn our compassion to action.

Help us renew the world,

now and for all future generations.

We ask this in Jesus’s name.

Amen
