We would like to welcome all our new staff in 2024! Stay tuned for Part 2 in the next newsletter.

LIAM MACKAY (Secondary Teacher)

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?

This year I'll be teaching year 9, 10 and 11 maths, Year 9 English and homeroom, and helping out with year 11 Physics! I am so excited for all this year has to offer. To be working in such an awesome community doing what I love (helping people learn!).

 What did you do previously?

Before this year I worked as a Chaplain in Mount Evelyn, as well as A Youth, Young Adults and Worship Minister at The Orchard Church of Christ. I loved these jobs and working with kids, but my heart was at Belgrave Heights and in education. So last year, I decided it was time to return (after working and studying here from 2014 to 2021).

What do you like to do for fun?

I love playing music, both listening and playing my piano or guitar. Seeing my friends and watching movies, I am a big movie buff. You'll likely run into me at Cameo Cinemas!

I have a passion for sports. I love following the AFL and coaching a junior team at my local club. I play competition tennis and love going away on tennis holidays playing competitions with friends and family. I love caravanning and recently did a half lap of Australia with my family. It was one of the best things I've ever done.
