Parents & Friends News

Dear all

Welcome back!

I hope you have had an awesome time off with your families, just as I did with mine.

For those who don’t know me my name is Louisa and I am the P&F (Parents and Friends) Leader.

I have a daughter Alyssa who is in Year 3.  I would like to welcome Holly and Jeremy to our Team.  Holly who will start the role of Secretary and she has Joshua who is in Year 2 and Jeremy will take over the role of our Treasure and has a daughter Paige in Year 1. Together we are looking forward to working with you all on making our school community enjoyable.

We are so excited to see what the year will bring.

I would like to thank all the reps for all their time and hard work in 2023.

We are looking for Class Reps for each year levels. Being part of the P&F is a great way to get involved with the St Mary’s Community and meet new people. We meet once a Term, usually on a Thursday at the school. We meet face to face and online for those who are unable to be onsite. Toddlers are welcome at all our meetings. Our first meeting this Term will be next Thursday 8 February at 2:30pm in the staffroom. If you are interested in being a Rep please use this link to fill in your details. Link

We also have a School Wide Event Group (SWEG) team who plan our major fundraiser. Our Fete Committee did such an amazing job last year. We are also looking for a group interested to help with the garden and landscape project this year. Lastly, we need a small uniform team to help run our shop and keep tidy, so if you are interested in any of these roles, please also follow the same link.

I'm really looking forward to what the year will bring.

We are excited to start the year off with a FREE Sausage Sizzle and icy pole for all families on Friday 2 February at 3:30pm after school to welcome you all back.

The secondhand uniform shop was opened this morning and will open again on Monday 5 February at 3pm to 3:45pm.  So if you need anything please drop in before pick up, or come by even to say hi.

Sunday 11 February at 5:30pm we have a Welcome Mass for all. The Year 6 Leaders will receive their badges along with with our Semester One SRC students. Families are welcome to participate in a BYO picnic in Alma Park afterwards if they wish.

We look forward to Shrove Tuesday on Tuesday 13 February, where the children are given pancakes in the morning. If you can help in the morning, please let me know.

Friday 23 February is our Welcome Drinks that will be held at the school under the sails (details to follow). This is a great way to meet the St Mary’s community.

In Partnership with Bakers Delight Hawksburn each month you will receive a voucher for a free loaf of bread every day for a month.

Each year level will take it in turns each month, so look out for your month.

Don’t forget every Wednesday morning we have our Stay, Chat & Play that opens at 8:45am until 9:30am in the Community room. You are all welcome to come along for a tea or coffee and toddlers are very welcome.

So if you see myself, Holly or Jeremy around the school, please stop us for a chat.

On behalf of the P&F Team lets have a fun and enjoyable 2024.

Regards

Louisa
