Hello Families,
Welcome back to the new school year. The students have started really well. We are already in our third day and with some schools just starting today or tomorrow, we are seeing the benefits of starting straightaway, with the students settled and now getting into their learning.
We have welcomed three new staff, Jenna Wynd who teaches Year 1/2 on Tuesday and Thursday, Kaveen Webster who works as an ESO in Year 1/2 and Thomas Howe in Year 4/5. We are grateful to have these talented and dedicated people on our team.
A reminder for all families to complete or update their child’s Operoo profiles. Our core job is keeping your children safe, and without up to date medical information, this is difficult. This is the parent’s responsibility to ensure we have all relevant information. Operoo is secure, used by many schools and ensures our staff can recognise any medical issues or get permission for different events.
Our first event community will be Shrove Tuesday, (13th Feb). We are looking for volunteers to help cook the pancakes, so we can all eat them! This will be an afternoon event, Prayer and Pancakes. More information to come, but if you can help from 2pm to 3:45pm, please let Glenis Cheyne know.
A reminder Breakfast Club opens at 8:20am every morning. If you need assistance with dropping your child off a few minutes before that to get to work, please see me or Bern in the office. We are here to help!
Hats are now also required to play outside, if you haven’t got the school one yet, we will give one week’s grace, and the students can wear another hat. Our uniform shop has stock. There are a couple spots available with a family day care provider who helps with after school care, if any families are interested. This is separate to the school, but a number of our students attend each morning and evening.
Our first newsletter will be available next Thursday and can be found on this link:
We’re here to support you, if you need help, come and chat to your child’s
teacher, or any staff member. Thank you for being here!
Kind Regards,
Paul Sharp
Principal
