It is very important that children wear their sports uniform on their dedicated sports day and bring a drink bottle (or two on the hot days).

 

2024 Team Vic State Team Trials 

Registrations are now open for any child (12 years and under) who would like to try out for the Victorian State Teams. The School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic representative program provides a development platform for Victorian students to challenge themselves against Australia’s best school aged athletes across numerous sports at the annual School Sport Australia (SSA) Championships. SSV coordinate the selection process for Team Vic teams in partnership with relevant state sporting organisations.

Please see the new Team Vic Principal Endorsement Sheet process for the following teams in 2024:

  • Australian Football 12 Years & Under Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
  • Basketball 12 Years & Under Girls/Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
  • Football (Soccer) 12 Years & Under Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
  • Netball 12 Years & Under Girls (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
  • Cricket 12 Years & Under Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)

Children are reminded that the skills required for these teams must be exceptional.  It is not a ‘Come and Try’ system. Children are required to check with the school principal or sports teacher for endorsement to go to the trials.

Sacred Heart Swimming Sports Years 4-6 

The Sacred Heart Swimming sports will take place on Thursday 15th February at Blue Water Fitness Centre. All students from Years 4-6 have the opportunity to participate in this event. The swimming sports will start at 9.30 am and finish at 1.15 pm. Students will walk to Bluewater.

We do need parent helpers on the day.  Please refer to your PAM account after 3:00pm tomorrow to indicate if you can assist on the day.

 

Sacred Heart Athletics Carnival

The Sacred Heart Athletics Carnival will take place on Friday 1st March at Colac Central Reserve. All students from Years 3-6 have the opportunity to participate in this event. It will include many track and field activities including High Jump, Shot Put, Discus, 100m, 200m, Relays etc. The sports will start at approximately 9.40 am and finish at 1.20 pm. Students will walk to the Central Reserve. Children may still have a lunch order on this day. We do need parent helpers on the day, so can you please indicate on PAM if you can assist.

Name: Tjay Moynihan (Yr 5JR)

1. What sports do you play? Soccer

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? Soccer

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Soccer is my favourite sport to play because I like kicking the soccer ball really hard.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I kicked my first goal in soccer.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my speed and aligity. I am also able to play in the different positions for soccer.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to play with my friends.

7. Who is your favourite sports person?  My favourite sports person is Cristiano Ronaldo. He played for Manchester United and now plays for Al Nassar Football Club.

8. Why are they your favourite?  He is my favourite player because he has scored the most goals in the history of soccer.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is Manchester United

1. What sports do you play? I play football and soccer.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is football.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Football is my favourite because it is fun and I get to play with my friends.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I kicked a ‘snap’ for the first time.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport are my speed, my dodging skills and I am strong.

6. Why do you love playing sports?  I love playing sport because it is fun and keeps me fit.

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Tom Hawkins for Geelong.

8. Why are they your favourite? Hawkins is my favourite person because I love Geelong and he is very fast and strong.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite team is the Geelong Cats.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? A coach and my teammates would describe me as a good kicker and a strong tackler.

 

Name: Charlotte Daffy (Yr 5JR)

1. What sports do you play? Netball

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? Netball is my favourite sport to play.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? I like playing netball because I get to learn new skills and play with my friends.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was making it through to the netball finals.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport are my speed and my arm strength.

6. Why do you love playing sports? ? I love playing sport because I like playing with my friends

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Ash Barty.

8. Why are they your favourite?  She is my favourite tennis player. I have even met her and she was very nice.

9. What is your favourite sporting team?  My favourite sports team is the Melbourne Vixens netball team.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and teammates would describe me as a good sport and a good listener.
