ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools)

Once again Wheelers Hill Primary School will be participating in the ICAS Assessments this year.

ICAS is designed to target students’ higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, and Digital Technologies.  Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition. Every student will receive a certificate and an online result report. The assessments are suitable for students wishing to extend themselves academically and take up the personal challenge of competing in an international assessment. ICAS Assessments are an online test. This allows greater accessibility for students and faster delivery of results.  Learn more about ICAS here: https://www.icasassessments.com/products-icas/subjects/Participation in ICAS testing is optional.  Wheelers Hill Primary School allocates the offering of the tests available based on our ability to manage the online nature of the tests and ensure we are able to provide devices.

Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you are unsure if your child should participate.

Keeping our school clean is important because it helps create a safe and enjoyable space for all students, teachers, and visitors. A tidy school yard also reflects the care and pride we have for our school community. By working together, students learn that even small actions can make a big difference. At Wheelers Hill Primary School, school pride is something we value highly. One important way we show this pride is through our weekly school yard clean-up program. Each week, a different class is given the responsibility of helping keep our school grounds clean and tidy. This week, the job was proudly taken on by 6EB. The students in 6EB worked hard to collect rubbish, tidy play areas, sweep up tanbark on the walkways and help make our school a welcoming place for everyone. Their teamwork and positive attitude showed great responsibility and respect for our environment.   (Ishaan D)
