Pentecost marks the end of the Easter Season

This Sunday 24th May is Pentecost Sunday, a truly special day in the Church calendar often called the "birthday of the Church." Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus’ disciples were gathered together when the Holy Spirit came down upon them like a powerful wind and tongues of fire, giving them the courage and ability to speak different languages so everyone could understand God's message.

Today, Pentecost reminds us that the exact same Holy Spirit lives within each of us. In our everyday lives, we can call on the Holy Spirit to give us the courage to stand up for what is right, the kindness to help a friend in need, and the wisdom to make good choices. Let’s look out for those "Pentecost moments" this week by spreading joy and love throughout our day!
