From the Principal

Naplan Success
We are very proud of our school results in our 2026 Naplan in all areas of learning.
Recently I attended the Armidale Catholic School (ACS) Principal Meeting. I was asked to speak on a panel to share how our school achieved continual success in Naplan.
The majority of our students in Years 3 and 5 are in the 'strong' and 'exceeding' bands.
I commenced my discussion with the fact that our staff are dedicated and have a strong passion for the differentiation of learning to ensure all students reach their full potential.
At St Joseph's we have a high teacher to student ratio. This is through the generous staffing of the ACS and we thank them for their continued support of our school.
Our School's Annual Improvement Plan is focused on student success.
Our Leader of Pedagogy in our school, Mrs Murphy and our Maths Support Teacher, Miss Beach, work with staff to support their quality teaching.
Co teaching has been in our school for many years now and the co planning, co teaching and co assessing allows our students to have strategically planned learning- catering for their needs.
Mrs Murphy and Ms Sonego will be speaking at the Armidale Cluster Pupil Free Day next Monday sharing our Co teaching model.
We are also very proud that our small, country school is second to none in our Diocese, again a testament to the strategic planning and quality teaching of our staff and to the focused work of our students who come to school every day as a learner.
The teaching and learning at St Joseph's is not just within the classroom.
We have some lovely opportuntities for our students such as the upcoming Railway Station visit and Darling Downs Zoo visits for Stage 1. Stage 2 will attend the Cobb and Co museum in Toowoomba.
In Creative Arts all students will soon have an opportunity to travel to view a live performance, (more coming about this!).
Thank You God for the Beautiful Rain
I hope the rain this week has filled some of your tanks and helped with dams on our properties. We thank God for his blessing of this rain and we pray hard for more to come!
