P&C Update – Term 2, Week 4

Our P&C Meeting was held on Monday 11th May, with lots of important topics discussed as we continue working hard to support our school community. If you would like to join us at future meetings or become involved with the P&C, please send us an email at pandcsecretary.eps@hotmail.com

We would love to welcome more families and community members.

🌈 Colour Run Update

We are excited to share that the final profit from our Colour Run fundraiser was an incredible $22,569.44 going directly towards our new inclusive playground. Thank you again to Julia for coordinating and everyone who supported, donated, volunteered, and participated in making the event such a success.

💐 Mother’s Day Stall

Our Mother’s Day Stall also had an amazing result, raising $2,609.12 for the P&C. We hope all of our families had a wonderful Mother’s Day and loved the thoughtful, hand-picked gifts chosen by the children. A huge thank you to Olivia and Saira for coordinating the event, along with our wonderful family volunteers and Active OOSH for helping everything run so smoothly.

🍎 Canteen Update

Our Canteen Supervisor, Jen Hampton, is currently on leave from 11th May until 26th May. During this time, our Canteen Assistant, Jenny Seriese, will be managing the canteen for first break service only. Full canteen operations will resume from Wednesday 27th May. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this period.

🎉 Grant Success

We were thrilled to receive notification from Lauren at 1Rail that our playground grant application was successful, with the P&C receiving $5,000 towards the inclusive playground project.

We are getting very close to moving ahead with the playground and are continuing to work closely alongside the school to make this exciting project a reality for our students.

🏗️ Inclusive Playground Update 🌈

At our recent P&C meeting, the school and P&C worked collaboratively to present a proposal for the future of our inclusive playground project. Following extensive discussion and consideration, the P&C officially voted to contribute $100,000 towards the construction of both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the inclusive playground on the tiers.

This decision means we can work towards having construction begin this year, allowing our students to access an exciting, inclusive, and engaging play space much sooner. Completing both phases together will also provide significant cost savings compared to staging the project separately in future years.

We are incredibly proud of what our school community has achieved through fundraising efforts, grants, canteen profits, and community support to help make this project possible. Thank you to everyone who has contributed along the way, this playground will be something truly special for all Edgeworth PS students 💛

🥖 Coming Soon

We are currently planning a Thompson’s Bakery Fundraiser, with details and ordering information to be released on Spriggy in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

🧦 Silly Sock & Crazy Hair Day

On Friday 26th June, students are invited to wear their silliest socks and/or craziest hairstyle for a gold coin donation to support our inclusive playground fundraiser. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative ideas!

Thank you again for your continued support of the P&C and our school community.

Kind Regards,

Kirby Channells
