Principal's Report

Dear Parent and Families,

I hope this newsletter finds you well, as we approach the middle of Term Two.

Over the past two weeks, we have had a number of sporting events taking place both inside and outside the school: Division Cross-Country, Division Soccer and the start of Year 3-6 Golf Clinics with Tony Collier. We are awaiting the official results for the Cross-Country, but Mr Haire is confident we will have at least one, if not two, students through to the Regional Event later in the year.

Visitor and Volunteers Policy Reminder

I have included both the BNPS Visitor and Volunteers policies in this newsletter (they also live on our school website) to remind all parents, carers and community members of the processes and procedures expected when visiting or volunteering at the school. The main part of this procedure that I’d like to highlight is that when attending during school hours, all visitors and volunteers MUST visit the School Office and sign in and check-in with our office staff before visiting classrooms or other areas of the school. Even if the visit is only brief, during school hours this is non-negotiable. This is both a Child Safety measure, and a way to minimise classroom/learning disruption. It is also important to note the requirements around Working With Children Checks and ensuring you are up-do-date from this perspective if volunteering in the school or visiting for any period of time. Please take the time to read through both these policies.

Do It For Dolly Day – Friday 22nd May

BNPS is proud to host our very own Do It For Dolly Day on Friday 22 May 2026. Although the national day was held on 4 May, our school community will come together later this month to support this important cause.

From 11 May to 22 May, students and families are invited to enter our BLUE Jellybean Guessing Competition. The jar will be displayed in the front foyer, and entries can be made with a gold coin donation.

Students are also encouraged to wear something blue on Friday 22 May to help raise awareness for the Dolly Foundation and Dolly’s story.

The key message behind Do It For Dolly Day is KINDNESS. By being kind to ourselves and others, we can help reduce bullying and create a more supportive community. The Dolly Foundation is working to stamp out bullying altogether, but they need our help to spread awareness and continue sharing Dolly’s story in the hope that it will inspire positive change in the way we treat one another.

Additional donations are warmly welcomed. A donation tin will be available at the front office, and donations can also be made via bank transfer.

If you wish to make a donation, even the smallest amount our unique code is FR8385.

Until I see you in person,
