Encouraging the love of reading

Introducing Renaissance Accelerated Reader

This year, our school has introduced the Renaissance Accelerated Reader program to encourage a love of reading among Year 7 students.

As part of the program, all Year 7 students have borrowed a carefully selected ‘Renaissance book’.

They will have a dedicated reading lesson in the School Library each week and

read three mornings a week during Connect classes.

To track their progress, students will complete a quiz after finishing each book

to test their understanding.

We also encourage our students to read at home to build strong reading habits.

Parents can support by asking about their child’s book, discussing favourite stories,

and making reading a shared experience.

Let’s work together to foster a culture of lifelong reading!

If students have any questions or need help, they are welcome to have a chat with me.
