Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to another exciting school year at Cecil Hills High School! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable break, and that your children are ready for a fantastic year of learning, growth, and new opportunities.
We are delighted to welcome our new students and families joining our school community. Whether you are starting your child’s first year with us or returning for another, we are committed to ensuring every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired.
Our dedicated staff have been working hard to prepare engaging learning experiences and a welcoming environment for all. This year, we begin our journey towards the targets set out in our new School Excellence Plan, and we look forward to working in partnership with you to support your child’s success.
Communication is key, and we encourage you to stay connected through communication channels such as our newsletters, emails and social media. To further support our families, we have added three Community Liaison Officers to our team, Ms Terez Sheeto, Ms Branka Ristic and Ms Denise Ta.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind our community of our commitment to the School Community Charter which ensures collaborative, safe and respectful communication between parents, carers educators and school staff.
We are thrilled to have officially moved into our brand-new hall, marking an exciting milestone for our school. This state-of-the-art space has already proven to be a fantastic asset, providing a modern and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and families. In Week 3, we held our very first presentation in the hall, a truly special occasion that showcased its versatility and significance. The event was a great success, bringing our community together to celebrate student achievements in a setting that enhances the experience for everyone. We look forward to many more memorable moments in our new hall!
In addition to our new hall, we are excited to see further upgrades across the school coming to life. Our renovated and expanded canteen is now open, providing improved facilities and service for our students and staff. Additionally, R Block, located along Frederick Road, is set to open mid-year, featuring state-of-the-art learning spaces for Timber Technology, Hospitality, and Textiles. This impressive new building will also support STEM, Science, Mathematics, and English classrooms, creating a dynamic and innovative learning environment for students across multiple disciplines.
These purpose-built facilities will provide students with industry-standard environments to develop their skills, explore new learning opportunities, and engage in hands-on, future-focused education. We can’t wait to see our students thrive in these incredible new spaces!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our parents and carers for their ongoing support in maintaining the high standards of our school uniform. Wearing the correct uniform fosters a sense of pride, unity, and respect within our school community, and we are proud to see our students representing the school so well each day. Your efforts in ensuring students arrive in full uniform, including the correct footwear and accessories, contribute to a positive school culture and reinforce our shared values. In line with Health and Safety standards, we remind families that shoes must be traditional black leather, hard-soled school shoes to ensure safety in all learning environments, particularly in practical subjects. We appreciate your partnership in upholding these expectations and ensuring that our students continue to present themselves with pride. If you require further information, please refer to the Student Handbook which can be located on our Cecil Hills High School website. https://cecilhills-h.schools.nsw.gov.au/
We look forward to a wonderful year ahead and thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we can make 2025 a year of achievement and growth for all our students. As always, If you have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or our school office.
