Parents' Association

Just over 1 week to go until the end of term! How time flies.
Last Friday saw the SPSS Athletics carnival at Knox Athletics Track. It was a wonderful day with so many happy students. Records were broken, lots of ribbons were earned. It was great to hear students encouraging each other on regardless of their position in a race/event. The PA were there to hand out icy poles (the kids didn't care that it was a bit of a cold day!). It was a great set-up and the parent and grandparent helpers took it in turns to help but also all had the opportunity to get out and watch the action. Thanks to all who helped on the day.
Tomorrow we're excited to be helping out with the Colour Explosion. Members of the PA have been working hard with the teachers and staff to organise what should be an awesome event. We hope to see everyone there - whether you're watching your kids or enjoying the fun yourself - let that inner kid out!
We'll be organising the food options for after the run. There's the BBQ but we're also brining in some Korean Gimbap (Sushi) and Fried Rice from some of our school community businesses - please support our school and these businesses. Also the ice cream truck will be there to finish off the night with something sweet!
Next Week we are preparing the Easter Raffle baskets so please get those Easter donations in by Monday if possible to give us time to wrap them all up. I've seen some reasonable sales out there in the stores - it doesn't just have to be chocolate.
As we are moving on towards next term please consider if you have a business or connections that may like to get involved with the school in one of our activities. It might be a donation for a raffle, such as for Mothers Day, or a food business that would like the opportunity to spread the word by working with us for another event in the future. We are about promoting the community spirit, reach out and we can work together.
At the start of next term we have the cross country, Mothers Day stall and most likely an election day BBQ and cake stall - so look out for calls for help and please come and join us - it's always fun and friendly and we love new faces!
The Uniform Shop will also be open on the 1st May from 9-11am, and at the same time we will have a morning tea.
