Dear Parents,
Thank you to the many parents who have attended the Parent-Teacher Interviews this week, either face-to-face or via phone. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet with teachers and share valuable information about your child. If at any time you would like to talk to the teacher regarding anything related to your child at school, please contact the school so we can coordinate a meeting with your child’s teacher.
What a wonderfully successful week for Bathurst Public School. We were thrilled to be announced as the 2025 Bathurst District Swimming Champions last Friday at the District Swimming Carnival. We also celebrated successes with Addison Jones, who was announced as 11 years Girl District Champion, and Ashwin Buttsworth, who was announced as District Junior Boys Champion. Well done Addison and Ashwin. Many individual and team successes occurred last Friday, and we congratulate our children on their swimming excellence and the support they gave one another last week. Thank you, Mrs Francis, Mrs Mooney and Mr Milne, for your work and support at the carnival.

Over the next couple of weeks, our Year 3 and 5 children will sit the National Assessment
Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). NAPLAN is a literacy and numeracy assessment that students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit each year. It is the only national assessment all Australian students have the opportunity to undertake. NAPLAN assesses the literacy and numeracy skills that students are learning through the school curriculum and allows parents/carers to see how their child is progressing against national standards. Parents can prepare their child by ensuring they are well rested the night before, arrive at school on time, reassure them that NAPLAN is a part of their school program and reminding them to simply do their best. Reports will be supplied to parents once they are received later in the year.
