Principal's Message

From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 1, Week 7

Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,

Once again, we have a busy week ahead of us and it is not slowing down.

CWA Werris Creek

I was invited and attended the CWA meeting at Werris Creek this morning.  It was a great meeting with some very lovely hard-working ladies in our community.  I was delighted to receive a donation from the CWA Werris Creek Branch to go towards our Major Excursion. Thank you CWA Werris Creek Branch we appreciate your contribution.  This will go a long way towards helping all students to be able to attend.

Behaviour Focus

Each week we focus on a particular behaviour to ensure our students know what is expected each and every day.  Those students who achieve the behaviour focuses receive over and above awards to fill their rewards chart.

Our behaviour focus for Week 7 is Ready - Be Ready and Resilient:

  • Never ever giving up - Keep Going
  • We move on and Get Over It
  • Just Do It
  • Be Strong, Walk Away and Tell a Teacher

School Photos

We had our annual school photos this morning at Werris Creek Public School.  Thank you to all who attended in full school sport uniform. Thank you to the School Photographer for once again taking our photos.   If you have missed getting the envelope into school, it is not too late.  You can go online to www.theschoolphotographer.com.au to order.

Colour Run

Our long awaited Colour Run will be taking place this Friday, 14th March, and all are welcome to attend.  Please ensure your child wears a white t-shirt and closed in old shoes. Your child will get wet.  We ask that you pack spare clothing to change into once the colour run is complete.  The P&C will be selling sausage sandwiches, lollies and drinks on the day.

Harmony Day

We will be celebrating Harmony Day next Tuesday, 18th March.  This will be an in-school event with students only.  We ask that your child dress in orange for the day.  Our teachers will be providing activities and learning around this year's theme which is "Harmony - We all have a role to play".

Turn Up Awards

To encourage our students to attend school every day we have introduced the "Turn Up" award.  Each day your child attends their name will be entered into the draw to receive a canteen voucher.  A voucher will be issued each week to each class.  If your child attends 5 times in that week they have 5 entries.  If they attend two days in that week they have 2 entries.  Our winners for Week 6 are:
