Greater Western Swimming
Congratulations to Mae Dwyer and Beau Perkins who have qualified to compete in the Greater Western Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 26th March in Horsham. We hope they have a great day.
Ride to School Day
This coming Friday, March 21st is National Ride To School Day. It is a day when children are encouraged to ride, scoot or walk to and from school. Given the traffic around our school in the mornings and afternoons this opportunity is one that I commend to parents to consider for their personal circumstances.
We all recognise the benefits in bicycle travel in terms of increased fitness and independence for the kids, less traffic on our roads and less pollution in our environment, however children must be confident and competent riders with a safe route planned for them by their parents and carers.
Lawn Bowls
Currently in sport, a number of year levels are learning about the game of ‘Lawn Bowls’. During these lessons, two sides will be selected (from Year 5 and 6) to represent Sacred Heart in the Colac Division Lawn Bowls Tournament on Monday 31st March at the Lake Bowling Club. More information will be sent home for selected students closer to the date.
Sacred Heart Junior Athletics F-2
On Friday 4th April, the students from Foundation – Year 2 will participate in the Sacred Heart Junior Athletics Carnival. This will take place at Sacred Heart between recess and lunch time (11:45am – 1:15pm). The students will be involved in a number of sporting activities e.g. High Jump, Egg and Spoon Race, Sprints etc. Parents/Grandparents are welcome to watch their child/children/grandchildren participate. Our Year 6 students will be the leaders of the activities on the day.
Students are reminded to apply sunscreen before arriving at school and ‘Please’ bring along a drink bottle. We look forward to a fun day.
