Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope

St Patrick’s Day 17th March

A fun way to raise money for the missions is to have a mufti day. ALL students are invited to bring in a gold coin and wear something green to school next Monday 17th March so we can celebrate St Patrick's Day and unite against poverty.

The Irish were among the first Europeans to settle in Australia which is why Australians come together on St Patrick’s Day to celebrate Irish culture and remember St Patrick’s life and achievements. St Patrick is one of Ireland’s patron saints and legend credits Patrick with teaching the Irish about the doctrine of the Holy Trinity by showing people the shamrock, a three-leafed plant, using it to illustrate the Christian teaching of three persons in one God.

St Joseph’s Day 19th March

All students will attend mass to celebrate St Joseph’s Day. This is a special feast as our school is named St Joseph’s School. Parents are welcome to join us for mass at 9.30am. St Joseph is the patron saint for fathers. He is remembered as a craftsman who served his neighbours through his work.

Lent

I encourage you to talk to your children about Lent and how we can make a difference in the world through kindness and helping others. All students were given a project compassion box today. The money raised goes to the Catholic organisation Caritas which helps the poor throughout the world.
