Carnival Time

Swimming Carnivals

We had a bustling start to our year with swimming and athletics carnivals in the first four weeks of term.

Our Primary and Secondary Swimming Carnivals were held at the Riverside Aquatic Centre in mid-February and we were blessed with glittering blue skies to match the pool's lanes that carried our eager young swimmers to score points for their teams.

In Primary, Barrow took the win followed by Tamar and Melaleuca.

In Secondary, Tamar knocked Barrow off the leading position after a six year winning streak, with Melaleuca in third place.

A big shoutout to Year 9 student Heidi Luck who broke a whopping five individual records! Well done Heidi, what a fantastic result!

Thank you to all those parents who helped out at the swimming carnivals and came along to cheer our students in the pool. We should also say congratulations to the brave staff who competed in our first staff freestyle race in a long time, and the biggest splash competition. It was most entertaining!

Secondary Athletics Carnival

What a day we had on Friday March 28 when our Secondary students converged on the Northern Athletics Centre at St Leonards for the LCS Athletics Carnival. Sunshine, team spirit, cheering, great competition, coffee (for the parents), broken records and live music were the winning ingredients for a memorable day.

A big congratulations to Melaleuca who came out ahead, and record-breaking athlete Keona Hayes.
