Hands On Learning

For the first week of Hand's on Learning students began looking at the restoration process for our vintage pedal cars, our first session was dedicated to safety around tools and materials, group collaboration of rules and expectations as well as the dismantling and labelling of the pedal cars and the parts involved. Discussions around how the moving parts work were a part of this also. As we look forward to the metal/body work ahead we have made patience our group goal as anything automotive/restoration can be hard and repetitive work but we are hoping that this pays off and awesome results follow. As part of HoL the students help to cook lunch for the group. This week we kept it simple with sausages in bread (thanks for cooking Enrique). Along the way we will take on other motor and mechanical related jobs/maintenance when they arise. We are excited to see what we can achieve as a group and as individuals.

In HoL today it was me (Maya), Lachie, Ricky and Ada. Today we fixed and took apart vintage pedal cars. Ada and I were in a group and Lachie was with Ricky. We all did a really good job. For lunch we had snags and we had lots of fun. Ricky gave the day a 10/10, Lachie was 9/10, I said 10/10 and so did Ada. We all worked as a team and we had a good day. At the end of the day, we talked about how we went and what can be improved.
