3/4 Classroom News

NAPLAN
Thank you to our amazing Grade 3 students, who began their NAPLAN testing this week. Mrs Haw and Ms Elborough are extremely impressed with your resilience and super-proud of your efforts. While walking around, we can already see all of the learning in the past 7 weeks being put in place and you should be extremely proud of yourselves. Next Tuesday, we will sit the Language and Conventions test as well as the Numeracy test.
Literacy
The 3/4 students have been writing narratives in the past few weeks. Their progress from the beginning of the year to now is excellent. They will spend the coming weeks editing their work, paying particular attention to their use of adjectives, adverbs, interesting words and dialogue punctuation.
In reading, their focus has been and will continue to be on identifying the main idea and author's purpose in both fiction and non-fiction texts.
Maths
We have continued to focus on number work in maths, including additing and subtracting as well as place value. Next week, we will focus on time and shape.
Have a fantastic weekend and stay out of the heat.
