What a big fortnight at TPS
Mrs Pearce
It has certainly been a busy two weeks here at TPS. Mr Hogan is having a well deserved break, we look forward to his return just before the school holidays. Thank you to staff, students and families for your support while Rob is absent.
A highlight for me over the past two weeks has been seeing the continued school values that our students show. From volunteering to pick up rubbish in the yard, using initiative to look after younger students, to being inclusive during games, resilience, respect and responsibility is always on display.
Thankyou to St Patrick's Primary School Tongala 3621 for hosting the Inform & Empower Parent Session. Mrs Haw attended this and found it extremely informative and somewhat confronting to know what our young ones can experience in the online world - even when the parental controls are on.
Thankyou to Martin McGauran (Founder and Educator) and Carley McGauran (Psychologist) for giving up their time and information to present this Parent Session. We look forward to continuing our online lessons with Inform and Empower.
A very big thank you also goes to Bendigo Bank for sponsoring this wonderful program for our students and school community.
444 Run for Mental Health
Last Friday the school supported Local man Ben Welch who ran an amazing 380 kms in 4 days 4 hours and 44mins with every cent raised being donated to headspace Echuca, Mildura and Swan Hill to support Mental health in our community!
Ben started his run at 4.44am Monday in Swan Hill and finished at 4.44pm in Echuca. Ben completed 9 marathons over 5 days!
To show our support and to raise money to go towards this great cause students wore blue and ran over 444 laps during the day - a whole school effort to support the importance of mental health. Our school raised $235 - thank you to our families for your support.
Thank you to the families that attended the 'Getting to know you interviews'. Staff value this time with families getting to know their students better and setting up for a great year of learning. Our teachers are always more than happy to speak with families about any issues or concerns that you may have. Great communication between home and school is a very important part of ensuring your child's success at school.
Friday the 21st of March is National Ride 2 School Day. Those that wish to join us we will meet at the police station at 8:40am to meet the bus and then walk/ride/scoot to school from there.
Have a great weekend everyone stay cool!
