WHAT'S ON

Our Grade 5 students have been working hard at NAPLAN while the Grade 6s engaged in an exciting project and senior sport. Well done to everyone for putting their best efforts in and showing determination! We celebrated Harmony Week and enjoyed food brought in that celebrates our students' cultures.

IN OUR LEARNING

Here's a little recap of what we've been covering in the classroom:

Reading: Our focus text is 'Holes' - We have explored symbolism, inferencing and identifying the climax.

Writing: Persuasives - We have researched and planned reasons to support an opinion, expanded our ideas and worked on following text structure and features.

Maths: Identifying number properties (prime, square), converting units of measurement and identifying processes for worded questions.

Humanities: For the History project, students are creating a short film to discuss Federation, migration and representation in Australian media.

HOUSE ATHLETICS

Our House Athletics was a day of excitement, teamwork, and determination! Students competed in track and field events, earning points for their houses while showcasing their outstanding sportsmanship. From sprints to triple jump, everyone gave it their all, cheering each other on and embracing the spirit of friendly competition. Congratulations to all participants and to our winning house McMullen!

NATIONAL YOUNG LEADER'S DAY

Our student leaders recently attended the National Young Leaders Day at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, where they heard from inspiring speakers about leadership, resilience, and making a difference.  The students presented at Assembly to share their experiences and their highlights were hearing the stories of the Leaders who came to speak and learning about their incredible achievements.
