Konnichiwa, Monty Community!
Years 3, 4 and 5 have been learning about the famous Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, often called the 'Queen of Polka Dots' because she uses dots to show how everything in the world is connected.
Students have also been learning new Japanese vocabulary, such as mizutama (polka dots), kabocha (pumpkin), and maru (circle). They have started creating their own pumpkin artwork featuring polka dots and infinite lines. It has been wonderful to see them focusing on their art with the same dedication as Yayoi Kusama herself!
Yoku dekita – Well done, everyone!
You can go visit and explore her amazing artworks at NGV now until 21st April!
